What to do ?

When to go?

The best time to visit this area is between May and September. The temperatures are pleasant and the rain is very little present. Although the weather may be wet in autumn, it is also a good time to visit the area. 

However, On the other hand, the winter is quite cold and rainfall abundant, so this is not the period to privilege.

Open to the Atlantic Ocean and crossed by the last wild river in Europe, the Pays de la Loire region offers a varied heritage of the most interesting. Vast and extensive, it has an important landscape diversity whose attractions attract not only the holidaymakers, but also lovers of fauna and flora. On the countryside, the Pays de la Loire region attracts walkers and enthusiasts of architecture, with the banks of the famous royal river punctuated by sumptuous castles, the Marais Poitevin conducive to romantic walks in boat, megalithic vestiges, cities of Art and History, but also the regional nature parks of Brière, Loire-Anjou-Touraine and Normandie-Maine, all three dotted with innumerable hiking trails. Rich in history and strong of an important architectural heritage, this vast territory shelters within it part of the famous castles of the Loire.

The Machines of the Island

 

The Machines project is at the crossroads of the "invented worlds" of Jules Verne, the mechanical world of Leonardo da Vinci and the industrial history of Nantes, on the exceptional site of the former shipyards.

 

Le Puy du Fou

The Puy du Fou is a MUST TO DO in France. It is a park offering various shows reverting the medieval period. Also, some villages has been reconstituted so you can be in total immersion. The Puy du Fou is a real opportuny to return back time and to travel next to knights and royalty.

 

Pier of the Abbey

If you're a real romantic you will love this walk on the Poitevin river. You'll be charmed by this magical atmostphere. Embark on a small boat during 1, 2 or 3 hours and share some incredible moments in family or with your lover.

The Lov'Nid, spherical in shape, is suspended more than 6 meters high in the middle of the forest. Its panoramic roof and two portholes allow you to observe the starry nights and break the barriers between the world of nature and man.

La Bienveilleuse, illuminates and watches over the landscapes of the picturesque little port of Lavau-sur-Loire, between Nantes and St Nazaire.

At dusk, a soft light emerges that reinforces the exceptional character of the place.
